Deep Tissue Massage
Slow and deep pressure is applied to work more deeply into tissues - the skin, muscles and their supportive fascia.
The two main methods of application are to compress and/or to stretch tissues using elbows, fists and forearms and often includes trigger point work and myofascial work.
Deep tissue massage is used either as a stand alone treatment or to access specific areas more deeply as part of a body massage. The techniques can be used either to achieve a particular treatment outcome or for those clients who prefer a firmer massage.
Clients suffering from low back pain have found trigger point and deep tissue massage extremely helpful.
