Clinical & Body Massage

In all types of massage therapy, the intention is to relax the soft tissues, increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas, warm them, and help the body to relax.

In a typical massage therapy session, I will discuss symptoms, medical history and the desired results. I will generally perform some evaluation through observation and touch before beginning the massage. Oil or massage wax help reduce friction on the skin and I may use other aids such as ice, heat or aromatherapy essential oils.

Massage may be found to bring relief from everyday aches, reduce stress, increase relaxation,

address feelings of anxiety and tension, and aid general wellness. It can also be used in support

of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries.

Clinical massage My focus is on outcome based treatments such as increasing range of motion, reduction of pain etc  Techniques used include myofascial release and trigger point work as well as deep tissue massage and stretches.

The first appointment will include a consultation and after discussion we agree a treatment plan.  This is reviewed at every appointment to ensure that treatments are focussed appropriately. You will be given general and also tailored homecare advice so that you can gain the maximum benefit from the treatments you have.
